Final 2012 Report

It's been another great year of Steelhead fishing and we closed 2012 with a band today!!  Ed and Fritz put a beating on the Steelhead in a 5 hour trip this morning and we had the river to ourselves.  I want to thank everyone who fished with me this year for the continued support and I look forward to working hard to make your trips in 2013 just as memorable.  Ed and Fritz are pictured with a couple of today's fish.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas

Steelhead fishing was outstanding again today, Jackie is pictured with a nice one.  I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas ans I will see you on the river again after tomorrow.

12/24/2012  An awesome Christmas Eve buck for Jackie.
Steelhead fishingt was on fire yesterdsay.  We found a bunch of bigger fish with a mix of males and females and there were some bright chromes ones mixed in.  Water level was very nice at 2,300 cfs. and water temp of 37 deg, most of the fish fought like it was 40!  The fishing should stay great as long as we keep some water in the river. Dan is pictured below with a couple nice bucks from sunday.

12/23/2012  Another great looking Steelhead for Dan.

Muskegon River Steelhead

It was strange to fish with a decent amount of water in the river,  I really like the concept of not being able to see the bottom from the opposite side of the river.  Natalie and Jackie are pictured with a couple Steelhead from a short trip today.

12/22/2012  Steelhead fishing has been great this december.

Windy day steelhead

Tried fishing in the wind today and we lasted less than an hour but the results were pretty good.  Water level took a jump today up to 2,700 cfs which should really make things interesting over the next week, especially with water temp still near 40 degrees.  Jim and I are pictured below with a couple Steelhead from a very short trip this morning.

12/21/2012  It was a very windy day on the river.

12/21/2012  Jim with a pretty chrome hen before we were blown off the river.

Manistee River Steelhead

Steelhead fishing was great on the Manistee River today, the water was pretty clear but there was very little boat traffic and the fish were hungry.  Smaller tributaries are starting to put some color in the rivers after the recnt rain which should make things even better.  Justin and I are pictured below with a couple Steelhead from the Manistee River today.

12/17/2012  Justin with a hen he caught back bouncing spawn.

Steelhead Fishing

It was great to be back on the Muskegon River after a vacation in the Carribean and I was welcomed back by some pretty good fishing.  Water level is low and clear but that may change with the rain we've recieved over the last 24 hours.  All the fish we caught today were fairly bright and fought well in the 40 degree water temp.  I have some open dates between now and Christmas for anyone looking to get out in the unseasonably mild weather after some Steelhead.  Winter prices are also in effect,  half days are $200 and full days are $300.  Jackie and I are pictured below with a couple of today's fish.

12/16/2012  Jackie with a nice hen.

12/16/2012  Myself with a chrome bullet.

Operation Clean Sweep

The Steelhead fishing was on fire today,  it almost seemed like every fish in the river hadn't eaten in a week and they couldn't resist a spawn bag.  Jim and I are pictured with a couple nice ones from this morning.

Muskegon River Fishing Report

The Muskegon River is at a nice level at 1,900 cfs. with a slight stain and the fishing has improved big time.  The bite was on today and we found plenty of good sized bucks to pull on, these fish fought like crazy!!  Jim, Kris and I are pictured with a sample of today's action.
I have December 6, 7, 8 open for anyone looking to get out, the Steelhead fishing has been great with a little more water in the river and should continue with new fish on the move.

Muskegon River Fishing Report

The Muskegon River rose to 1,500 cfs. today with water temps in the low 40's which should help shuffle some fish around and refresh the fishing a bit.  Steelhead fishing has been pretty good lately but we have had to work for them on some days.  Greg, Tom and Steve are pictured with some Muskegon River Steelhead from today.

12/2/2012  Greg with a chrome hen from today.
