Spring Steelhead

Steelhead fishing has been good for us on the Muskegon River.  Water level is around 2,800 cfs. with just the right color, water temp is still on the cold side in the mid 30's.  There are a fair amount of new chrome fish in the system with lots more to come in the weeks ahead.  Boat traffic has been quite high the last couple days but should be back in check after the holiday weekend.
Anyone looking to get in on the great Spring Steelhead fishing we have here in Michigan don't hesitate to call (616)204-4999 or e-mail jeff@muskegonriverguide.com for more details or to book a trip.

James and Spencer are pictured with a couple of Steelhead from a fun day on the Muskegon River.  These guys did a great job learning how to back bounce and put a bunch of nice fish in the net as a result.

Spring Steelhead

Ken and Dale had a great day Steelhead fishing on the Muskegon River.  They caught a bunch of big colored up bucks, there are some new chrome spring fish being caught with lots more to come. Water temp is still cold at around 33 degrees and will stay there until we get some warmer weather, when it does start to warm fishing should get very good.
Call (616)204-4999 or e-mail jeff@muskegonriverguide.com for open dates this spring if you want to get in on some great Steelhead fishing.  Here are Ken and Dale with a few of the Steelhead they caught on 3/25/2013.

Steelhead fishing was good today on the Muskegon River.  The water has dropped to around 2,500 cfs. and is fairly clear, water temps are cold at around 33 degrees.  We have been catching a mix of winter holdover fish along with a few new chrome ones, there will be a lot more coming as water temps rise over the next few weeks.  I still have a few openings for full day trips this Spring and will also be taking bookings for 4 to 5 hour afternoon trips as daylight hours increase.  Here is Ed with some nice Steelhead from today.

Muskegon River Steelhead

The Steelhead fishing has been good the last few days on the Muskegon River.  Today's rain has the river coming up, just how much is anyone's guess and the feeder creeks are heavily stained which should turn the river much darker over the next day or two.  We have been finding a mix of dark holdover fish and some new chrome ones.  Brad and Howie had a productive half day yesterday afternoon and Jed and Dan had a very good bite on a short half day this morning, below are a few of the fish these guys put in the net.
