Spring Steelhead

Well as we all know our spring Steelhead season really got cut short. As of today, May 7 guides/charters are allowed to resume operations. For those that missed out on their Steelhead dates and would still like to fish, give me a call. There are still plenty of fish in the system and with any luck we should have another week or more of fishable numbers. Here are a couple fish that Ed put in the net this morning.

Muskegon River Fishing Report

Now is the time to book your spring Steelhead trips!!  My last few openings will fill up quick so don’t wait. We are seeing some chrome fish trickle in now so there is a good mix of new fish and winter holdovers. Warmer weather should create some runoff and bring water levels up triggering a good push of spring Steelhead. We’ve had a good bite most of the winter and it’s looking like spring will be great. Here are a couple pictures from recent trips.

Winter Steelhead

Mike and Pete had a great day on the river despite an 8 degree start. Here are a few pictures of fish they caught including a 16lb. buck that Mike put in the net early on.

Muskegon River Fishing Report

Steelhead fishing continues to be good this winter. We’ve been finding a mix of  bright fish filtering in and darker winter hold overs. Water conditions are low clear and cold but fishing pressure is light and there’s a decent amount of fish distributed throughout the system. It looks like a warm up is on the way for next week, now is a good time to get out and catch some Steelhead before the spring crowds show up. Here are a few recent pictures including the famed Ed and Fritz who have been out of the game for too long. It was great to have you boys back in the boat today!!

Muskegon River Fishing Report

Deb and Mike found a decent number of fish this morning. Winter Steelhead fishing has been good for us. There is a mix of newer chrome fish and colored up winter fish around. Now is a great time of year to get out and catch some Steelhead before the spring crowds show up.

Winter Steelhead

I’ve been terrible about updating conditions and pictures here lately so here we go. We had a great fall steelhead season and this winter has been better than most. High water has been dominant and for those of you that have fished with me you know the high water is right where I like it. As with any year most winter trips can be booked on short notice but for the up and coming spring now is the time to get your dates locked in before they’re all gone. Below are some pictures from this winter, the first few are from today and yesterday with other random photos to follow.
