Steelhead fishing was pretty good for us today. The water has dropped and cleared up a bit and the fish decided they wanted to bite. Most of the fish we are catching have been around a while but we are finding a few bright fish mixed in. Here are a few of the fish Ed and Fritz boated today.

Steelhead
The water had quite a bit more color today and we had to fish hard for our bites but the end result was a fun day on the water. Jed and Dan even let me in on the action.

Muskegon River Steelhead
Steelhead fishing has been decent on the Muskegon River lately, while we are not putting up big numbers we are catching enough fish each trip to keep it interesting. Snow melt has the river up to about 3,400 cfs. right now and the further you travel down river the more color the water picks up. There is a limited number of new fish showing up with water temps hanging in the low 30's, once we see a spike in water temp we should see a good shot of chrome fish. I have a very limited number of days open for March and even fewer in April so if you want to get out book it now. Kevin and Craig are pictured with a few fish from today.

Muskegon River Steelhead
As the cold winter days fade away into a distant memory, the warmth of spring approaches. Sun shining in the sky without a cloud in sight, birds singing their beautiful melodies, and on the water beneath the surface are some eager fish ready to take on the challenge of beating the anglers for their bait. As each day passes the temperature outside is gradually rising and the snow is rapidly melting which is causing the water levels to rise resulting in some better fishing. Today was another exciting day on the Muskegon with Ed and Fritz and here are a few pictures of their catch of the day. I am looking forward to the following days of fishing.

Spring Steelhead
It finally feels like Spring is coming, ice and snow are melting and the sun is feeling warm. Steelhead fishing is pretty good and getting better. Water level is low and clear with water temp in the low 30's. If this warmer weather stays we should see a good push of new fish soon. I have a couple days left in March and April for anyone looking to get out. Here are a few recent fish we've put in the boat.

Michigan Steelhead Fishing
Steelhead fishing has been pretty good when the weather allows you to fish. For anyone looking to get out before the crowds show up this Spring, February and early March can offer some great fishing without much traffic. Just find a warmer day or two in the forecast and go for it. And for those of you waiting for Spring I have some late March, early April and early May dates available, but don't wait until the week before you want to fish to book a day because they will likely fill up a month or more out. Here a few of the fish we boated on recent trips.
