Spring Steelhead

Steelhead fishing has been great for us lately.  We are seeing a good number of chrome fish showing up and the whole system seems to be fishing well.  Water level has dropped and temp is around 35.  I am down to 1 opening for march and some afternoon half days available in April so if you want to get on some steelhead let me know sooner than later.  Here are just a couple of the fish we've caught lately.

Muskegon River Steelhead

It's been a little too long since my last update.  We have had a strange winter as far as weather goes with near spring like conditions in February which made for some good fishing as water temps rose.  After recent rain water level is up and carrying good color, water temp has dropped back to more normal february levels and fishing has gotten a bit tougher in the high cold water.  We are still catching fish every trip but some days are better than others.  There is a good number of Steelhead in the system, some have been around a while and some newer arrivals.  Spring is fast approaching and now is the time to book your fishing trips while I still have a few available.  Here are a few pictures from recent trips.

Winter Steelhead

It felt like April out there today with all the boats.  Water is up around 3,500 cfs and has a good stain to it.  There is a good number of fish in the river, you just need to go find them.  Ed and Fritz put a decent day together despite having to work through a lot of boat traffic.  Here are a few of their fish from today.

Muskegon River Fishing Report

Warmer weather and recent rain has the river at a nice level and the fishing is pretty good.  Fishing pressure is low right now so if you want to get out and catch some winter steelhead now is the time.  Ed and Fritz had a pretty good bite going today, here are a couple of the fish they put in the net.
