Michigan Winter Steelhead Fishing

Steelhead fishing has been good this Winter on the Muskegon River despite colder than normal air temps.  Water level is around 1,900 cfs and temp is in the low 30's.  Boat traffic is very low on most days and busy days have been a couple other boats.  Access is limited to the town of Newaygo up to Croton Dam due to poor launch conditions and a frozen river downstream.  We have been splitting our time between back bouncing and float fishing and both methods are producing good numbers of fish.  The forecast shows a warm up for next week so if you have a case of cabin fever to get rid of give me a call and book a Winter Steelhead trip before the Spring crowds show up.  For those of you waiting for warmer weather I still have some openings in March and April for Spring Steelhead but they will book up quick.  Ok now for the good stuff, here are Ed and Fritz with just a couple of the fish they caught today.
