High water fishing on the Muskegon River

Steelhead fishing was good overall this morning, find the right spots and you can be rewarded with good action.  The high water had nearly all the boat traffic on the entire Miuskegon River between Croton Dam and Thornapple Ave., it almost felt like a mid April saturday!!  Water temp is still holding in the high 30's which should keep any number of Spring Steelhead from spawning for now, look for good numbers of Steelhead to be on the move over the next week.  We still have a couple openings over the next couple weeks, back bouncing spawn for Steelhead should be very productive through most of April.
4/5/2011  The fishing was good near the Croton Dam.
4/5/2011  Ed with a nice Spring Steelhead from the Muskegon River.
4/5/2011  Ed with another Steelhead just below Croton Dam.
